Day 1 10am Meet your friendly local guide in your hotel lobby and head out to striking Notre-Dame Cathedral, the most prominent and beloved Gothic monument in the world. Marvel at peerless sculpture on the facades including spindly Gothic buttresses and famous gargoyles.

12pm Experience the charm of two Paris islands - Ile de Cite, the birthplace of the city and Ile St Louis, once favorite place for Voltaire, Moliere, Rousseau and home to the richest people of Paris.

Admire sumptuous Louvre Palace (only from outside), home to the famous Musee du Louvre, the jewel in the crown of French culture and treasure trove of the finest art work in the world.

1pm After history and art lesson, seek a natural refuge in relaxing atmosphere of famous Tuileries Park and get incredible city views ambling along the magnificent embankments of River Seine, one of the most scenic and romantic places of Paris.

1.30pm Snap astonishing photos with the most instagrammable site in Paris – legendary Eiffel Tower.

Or else, put your feet up at sweeping Luxembourg Gardens, beautifully landscaped park, created in the 17th century and dotted with hundreds of statues, monuments and fountains (instead of Le Marais).

12pm Lose yourself wandering along the narrow streets of stylish and dynamic Saint Germain des Pres Quarter.
