Editorial Standards
Last reviewed: 24 October 2026
The short version: we publish France travel guides that are researched from primary sources, cite what they rely on, show their update history, and are honest about how the site earns money. If something is wrong, we correct it.
What we publish
Tour in France covers destinations, itineraries, festivals, practical travel logistics (visas, transport, budgets, safety) and curated bookable experiences. Our catalogue of tours is sourced from partner APIs — Viator and Travelpayouts — and is not written by our editorial team. Editorial articles are separate from those listings and are always attributed.
How we research
- Factual claims — opening hours, ticket prices, transport schedules, visa rules, national-park fees — are checked against the operator, transport provider or government source, and linked inline where possible.
- Preferred sources include the relevant French government departments, official tourism boards, official transport operators, and official operator websites.
- We do not present another site’s text as our own. Where a listing or profile originates from a partner, the source is recorded and credited.
- Numbers that change — prices, ratings, review counts — are described as indicative unless they come directly from a partner feed, in which case the source is named.
Accuracy and updates
Travel information goes stale. We review time-sensitive guides — visas, prices, transport, safety — at least once a year, and we update an article whenever a reader or partner reports a change. Corrections are made in the article itself, not in a separate note, so the version you read is the current one.
If you spot something out of date, tell us and include the page URL. We aim to respond within two business days.
Independence and affiliate disclosure
The site is funded by affiliate commissions. When you book through a link on this site we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commission never determines whether a place, tour or hotel is recommended, and it does not buy a place in a guide. Where we link to a booking partner, that link is affiliate-tracked; the full explanation is in our affiliate disclosure.
Ratings and review counts shown for tours come from the partner platform and are labelled as such. We do not invent reviews, star ratings or first-hand accounts.
AI assistance
Some drafts are prepared with AI assistance to speed up research summaries and structuring. Before publication, an editor checks facts, sources, links and recommendations, and removes anything that cannot be verified. AI is not used to fabricate experiences, quotes, ratings or reviews. The AI trip planner is a separate, clearly labelled tool: it produces a suggested itinerary from our catalogue and does not make bookings.
Images
Photographs are either licensed, supplied by partners, or generated for illustrative purposes where no suitable real photograph is available. Images are not presented as documentary evidence of a specific property unless they come from that property or its booking partner.
How to cite us
You may cite our guides with attribution and a link to the page. Machine-readable summaries of the site are published at /llms.txt and /llms-full.txt.
